Kinship

“This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you.” - John 15:12

It is important to keep harmony within the family and/or tribe, keeping order, passing on stories, language and dance. We have a responsibility to nurture and encourage with faith and love. We must all show respect to each other and live in harmony.

“Our tribe was our family and family were very important to our survival. Growing up we have more than one mother, father and grandmother and grandfather. Our cousins are our brothers and sisters. Each relationship was special because each had a role to play in our lives and to show us different skills to prepare us for adulthood and play our part within the family and learn responsibility and respect, so we all knew our place and what was expected.”
