SECONDARY OFFICE CLOSURE

Please note that the Secondary Office closes for the holidays at 3:30pm on Friday, 2 December and will re-open Monday, 16 January 2023. All emails will be actioned on our return. For any urgent enquires please contact College Reception on admin@calvary.qld.edu.au. Please note that College Front Reception will be open from 9am - 12pm and closes Thursday 15 Dec and reopens Monday 9 Jan.

2023 EQUIPMENT LISTS

2023 Stationery and Equipment lists for Years 7 - 12 can be found on the College Website. Please remember that from Year 8- 12 all students required to BYOD. Please refer to the College website for further information including device specifications.

2023 STUDENT CONTRACTS

Please see below links to for 2023 Student Contracts.

General Excursion Permission Form Required for all Students (7-12)

Completing this form allows the College to take students offsite for different school activities, Sporting Carnivals, Excursions, Activity Days and Swimming Lessons. Once we have received the completed Excursion Form, no other permission forms for General Excursions will be required. College Staff will notify you, via a letter/email of activities as they occur. These letters will inform you of specific details.

Locker ContractYears 8 - 12
Upon entering the Secondary College at Calvary we ask all students and parents to sign this Student Locker Contract in preparation for any locker use throughout their time in the Secondary College.
Please Note: Locker allocations will be communicated to students at the beginning of each school year. Students are not to begin using a locker until they have received their locker allocation. There is no fee payable for lockers and the school will supply a College owned combination lock for use throughout the year

PARENT PORTAL LOG IN CHANGES

In 2023 we are changing the way parents log in to the myCalvary portal and app. Currently parents log in using a “@mycalvary.com.au” username and password provided by the school. Starting in January 2023 we will be transitioning to a system where parents log in using their personal email address and a password they set and manage themselves. This will provide several benefits such as:

  • One less username for parents to remember and manage.
  • Ability to set and reset passwords yourself.
  • Reduced security risk for both Calvary and parents.

For existing parents, myCalvary accounts will be temporarily unavailable during the week of the 9th January 2023. At this point you will also be signed out of any active web sessions and the myCalvary mobile app. Following this, you will receive an email to your personal email address registered with the College which includes instructions on how to activate your new myCalvary account and set a password. Once you complete this process you can then log in to the myCalvary website and app using your new details the same as you did before.

Where two parents/caregivers in the same family share an email address only one shared account will be created. If you would prefer individual accounts, please contact the Calvary office to update your contact email address. This can be done either before the account transition or at any point afterwards and two accounts will be created.

For any new parents and families starting in 2023, there will be no transition process and you will automatically be sent an invitation email to set up your myCalvary account using your personal email for the first time.

BUS NEWS

 Dear Bus Families,

The College is launching a new bus travel management system called RollCall. RollCall leverages the latest software technologies to allow the school to track the buses on school routes with the time, date and location. This gives parents visibility to see their children through a Parent App. It also gives you the ability to amend your bus booking.

In the coming weeks, the College will send out a link to all Bus Families, to subscribe to the RollCall parent App. The welcome email will have the instructions on how to use the App.

If you have any questions or queries in regards to this, feel free to connect with the Transport team by email, Bus@calvary.qld.edu.au.

All Calvary staff and enrolled students will be involved in the rehearsal and whilst it’s essential that all steps of the procedure are strictly carried out, it is conducted in a calm and educational manner to assist the students in remaining calm. Cancellation of the Calvary Fair

After careful consideration, the college has decided to cancel the spring fair this year. Whilst this is disappointing, the decision was made in the best interests of the Calvary Community, and principally the college team. Due to COVID 19 there has been many difficulties managing significant numbers of personnel away and inviting 7000 plus visitors on site was not seen as being in the best interests for the college team, students, and families. We look forward to celebrating this event in the years to come.
