Seasons for Growth - Grief and Loss Education Program

Loss and grief are issues which affect all of us at some stage in our lives. Learning to deal effectively with these issues is central to personal wellbeing and happiness. Unresolved grief can also affect a student’s learning. Calvary Christian School is offering an Australian Education Program called Seasons for Growth, which supports participants who have experienced change in their family because of a death (not pet), separation or divorce.

Our Seasons for Growth Program will commence at Calvary in Week 1 of Term 4 and will conclude at the end of Week 8. Mr Gavin Prentice (Student Welfare Officer) and Mrs Rachael Bourke (Defence School Mentor) are qualified trainers and will facilitate the program. If you think your son or daughter would benefit from Seasons for Growth, we would encourage you to talk to them about this. Should they decide to participate, please complete the online form via the link below by Friday, 10th September. Please see attached letter for full details.

Uniform Policy Update

Throughout Semester One the College has reviewed the Secondary College Uniform Policy. There have been a few minor changes and further clarifications provided. Please take the time to read through the attached Uniform Policy with your child. One notable change is that watches are no longer a mandatory uniform item, however it is still recommended that students wear a watch to school to promote effective time management. The Secondary College Uniform Policy is also available on the College Website in the Secondary Student and Parent Handbook.

Student Sign in

The Secondary College has implemented a new sign in and out kiosk in the Secondary Office. This kiosk requires students to tap their College ID cards in order to sign in late to school or sign out early. Parents are still required to present to the Secondary Office if they are picking their child up from school early. The new kiosk will print a paper slip which parents will be required to sign instead of the sign out book on the Secondary Office counter. All students should have their College ID cards at school each day as they can also be used to print as well as use the new kiosk system.
