Our Program

The Calvary Teaching School provides a Christ-focused, innovative and practical teacher training program where Pre-Service Teachers are placed in a classroom from the first day of their degrees.

With the care and supervision of a dedicated Mentor Teacher, Pre-Service Teachers experience first-hand the rhythm of a school year within a supportive Christian school community. The embedded practice model provides school-based teacher training in partnership with Christian Heritage College to shape the Pre-Service for the role of a Christian school teacher.

“Christian schools will not remain Christian without Christian members of staff who are educated to think and practice Christianly. Christian schools need staff who are well grounded in their faith and engaged in ongoing formation. Future proofing Christian schooling in Australia depends on how schools’ source and develop staff members in Christian thinking, practice and teaching."

— Dr Craig Murison, Chief Executive Officer Christian Heritage College, Dip Teach, Bed, Adv DipCMin & Bib St, MLM, DProf (Trans St)
