Welcome to Term 3

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Term 3! With the refreshment that a school holiday can bring and the learning opportunities that lie ahead, there is so much to look forward to at Calvary Christian College.

Our College values and schoolwide focus "Well done, good and faithful servant" sees our values Excellence, Perseverance, Goodness, Faithfulness and Generosity come to life in practical and meaningful ways.

As students celebrate their successes and identify areas for growth from their Semester 1 reports, my encouragement is to reflect and focus on the value of Faithfulness. It is important for our students to faithfully apply themselves to their learning, to learn how to be faithful friends, and to develop obedience to God's Word and trust in His faithfulness.

Faithfulness is often demonstrated in the small, everyday choices we make. It is being dependable when no one is watching, showing commitment to our responsibilities, persevering through challenges, and trusting God even when we do not yet see the outcome. Mother Teresa wisely said, "God has not called me to be successful; He has called me to be faithful."

It is my prayer that this term will see all Calvary students grow in their confidence in God's promises and learn that a faithful life is built one step of obedience at a time.

As I look at the calendar, Term 3 is certainly shaping up to be another blessed term at Calvary.

I can't wait for Peter Pan Jr. (our Primary College musical), Book Week celebrations, NAIDOC Week celebrations, Prep and Year 12 100 Days celebrations, the Townsville Eisteddfod, and the Calvary Long Lunch, just to mention a few.

These events not only enrich each child's learning but also provide opportunities for our young people to demonstrate faithfulness through their commitment, effort, teamwork and service to our community. They also provide wonderful opportunities for us to connect and celebrate together as a wider College community.

May this term be one in which we all grow in faith, remain steadfast in our purpose, and continue to trust in God's faithfulness in every area of our lives.

Yours in Christian Education,

Paul Thompson
