Stewardship in Action

Stewardship begins with a simple but powerful truth: everything we have is entrusted to us by God, and we are called to use it faithfully for His purposes. It’s not just about managing resources well; it’s about recognising that what we’ve been given is meant to serve something greater than ourselves. When we see stewardship this way, even the everyday decisions take on deeper meaning.

At the heart of our College is this same responsibility, to faithfully steward the resources entrusted to us and use them in ways that best support the learning and wellbeing of every student.

From a school business management perspective, this means making wise decisions, reducing unnecessary spending, and directing resources where they will have the greatest impact, creating an environment where children can thrive. This work is only possible because of the dedication of our business support teams, who quietly and faithfully serve our community each day.

- Our Maintenance eam faithfully care for our grounds and facilities, ensuring safe, well-presented spaces where students can learn and flourish.
- Our Finance team steward the College’s resources with diligence and integrity, helping ensure every dollar is used to support strong educational outcomes.
- Our HR & Compliance team serve with wisdom and care, supporting our people and ensuring we operate responsibly, ethically, and in line with our obligations.
- Our Operations team (across projects, cleaning, tuckshop and transport) quietly keep the College moving each day, creating an environment that is safe, welcoming, and ready for learning.
- Each of these teams reflects what faithful stewardship looks like in action, using their skills, time, and care to serve others and contribute to a community where students can grow and flourish.

And they’re continuing to make meaningful improvements in how we support families, because stewardship is not only about what we manage internally but also about how we serve those entrusted to our care.

The introduction of the Edstart fee payment platform has been very well received. Families now have greater flexibility in managing fees, along with improved payment security and access to additional support services. Building on this, we are currently progressing toward a new payment platform for our ELC and OSHC services, which will further enhance flexibility, ease, and security.

Across the College, there is a strong sense of momentum as a number of important projects continue to take shape, each one an investment in the future of our students.

The junior playground remediation works are ready to recommence as soon as the ground dries out. We are looking forward to seeing this space restored and full of life again in Term 2.

We have also commenced work with architects on our master planning process, an exciting step as we begin to map out what our College will look like in the years ahead. This is an opportunity to thoughtfully design spaces that inspire learning, connection, and creativity. Importantly, our students and teachers will play a key role in shaping this vision, helping us create environments that reflect how they learn best and how they experience community.

In addition, we are putting the finishing touches on our junior secondary precinct plans. This project will deliver seven additional state-of-the-art classrooms, along with new bathroom and change room facilities; spaces designed to support both learning and student wellbeing.

Over the upcoming holiday period, the College will be abuzz with maintenance and cleaning teams preparing a refreshed, well-presented, and welcoming environment for the return of students in Term 2.

Stewardship, at its heart, is about faithfulness in the everyday, taking what we have been given and using it to serve God.

Wishing all of our families a safe, restful, and joyful Easter, remembering that Jesus brings new life and calls us to steward it well.

Blessings,

Mr Mike Stipis
