From Canberra to Charters Towers – Calvary Shines
The first four weeks of term 3 have been full and exciting across our College, with so much to celebrate and be thankful for.
New Principal Announcement for 2026
This week we shared the exciting news of our new Principal, Mr Paul Thompson, for 2026. We look forward to welcoming Paul and his family into the Calvary community. In the meantime, Calvary Christian College and Eaton College continue to thrive and flourish under the capable and passionate leadership of our team.
College Musical – School of Rock
Our much-anticipated and prepared for production of School of Rock is done! What an accomplishment for Mr Peter Bourke and his dedicated production team who tirelessly worked with our talented students to bring this energetic and inspiring show to life. We are so proud of their commitment, and it was a delight to see our community come together to enjoy two incredible nights of entertainment. I can’t wait to see what is next!
Year 6 Canberra Trip
Our Year 6 students have returned from their Canberra trip with memories that will last a lifetime. The program was a huge success—students engaged deeply in learning about our nation’s history, democracy, and culture, while building friendships and independence. Reports from the general public and people who worked alongside the Year 6 students were resounding in how beautifully they represented our College and their families – with respect and integrity – well done to all the year 6 students. Thank you to our amazing team for their care and leadership throughout the week.
Cattle Show Team
Congratulations to our Cattle Show Team for their outstanding results and growing presence at the Charters Towers Show. This program continues to expand in skill, student participation, and industry connections—what a fantastic representation of our College values in action. The team won the Herdsman & Husbandry Award for the best kept stall and outstanding teamwork whilst caring for their animals and representing their team with integrity and pride. CONGRATULATIONSCattle Show Team of 2025!
Lockdown Incident Last Week
Lastly, I want to acknowledge the lockdown event we experienced last week. Our processes were implemented successfully, and our community responded with calm and confidence. We are continually refining our emergency procedures, but this situation was a reassuring reminder that our systems are effective, and our people are prepared.
As we reflect on these many achievements and events, I am reminded of Lamentations 3:22–23:“The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
May this truth encourage us all—God’s faithfulness remains constant in every circumstance, whether in moments of great celebration or challenge.
Blessings,
Mrs Robyn Hair
