Curriculum

Core Subjects

Our students participate in a range of core subjects that must be completed by every student:

  • English and Mathematics (all year levels)
  • Humanities (Year 7 to 10) – a mixture of Civics and Citizenship, History, Business and Geography throughout the years
  • Science (Year 7 to 10)

Exploratory Subjects

Students in Year 7 have the opportunity to trial a range of subjects that are offered as electives later in their educational journey.  Students rotate through these subjects each term so that by the end of Year 7 they have experienced eight different options to assist them in making informed decisions as they enter Year 8.  These subjects include (but not limited to):

  • Agricultural Studies
  • STEM
  • Design Technology
  • Digital Technology
  • Food Technology
  • Drama
  • Music
  • Visual Art

Elective Subjects

Once students enter Year 8 they can begin to specialise by choosing two elective subjects that spike their interest and ones that they enjoy.  Examples of elective subjects on offer in Year 8 and 9 include (but not limited to):

  • Agricultural Studies
  • STEM
  • Design Technology
  • Digital Technology
  • Food Technology
  • Drama
  • Media Arts
  • Music
  • Netball Excellence
  • Visual Art
  • Business (Year 9)

In Year 10, students are provided with further choices as they begin to prepare for their Senior Studies.  Students are required to choose a Science elective and a Humanities elective in addition to two other elective subjects.  Teachers provide guidance with subject selection and work with students to identify their strengths and interests as well as preparation through prerequisite subjects.

    Students in Year 11 and 12 are considering their prospects with regard to further education or transition into the workforce.  Senior students have the opportunity to choose a specialised pathway which will direct them towards their goal beyond graduation.  Examples of elective subjects on offer include (but not limited to):

    All students in the Secondary College have the opportunity to participate in a range of school-based subjects and activities.  These include:

    • Christian Living and Pastoral Care lessons
    • Weekly Sport/Co-Curricular 
    • Fortnightly Assembly and Chapel
